Knowing how to be solitary is central to the art of loving. When we can be alone, we can be with others without using them as an escape. — Bell Hooks (via mishproductions)

I decided to indulge in some self-love today. I think sometimes we feel guilty when we post selfies or tell people what we think our strengths are for fear of looking conceited. But I believe that it’s okay to indulge every once in a while, and since today is my birthday, what better day to do so?
•I like that I can be compassionate and understanding of others.
•I like that I can articulate my thoughts well.
•I like that I know how to draw.
•I love my curly hair.
•I think I am pretty. Even though there will always be someone better-looking than me, I know I have more to offer than my looks.
•Even with my bad days, I’ve gotten to a point where I generally like myself…and that’s pretty sweet.
When I look back at where I used to be, I almost can’t believe that I am where I am now.
I’m so thankful for all the people who have given their love and support for me over the years. I’m also really thankful for the friends that took the extra minute to call or message or text me “Happy Birthday”; I felt the love :’)

Absolutely stunning photography. Just…wow.
Rudeness is one of my least favorite qualities.
When you find a way to make another person’s opinion look stupid, you’re actually just finding a way to make yourself feel superior.
Guys, can we just learn to show some respect?
Soooo I’m lowkey freaking out because summer is coming and all my close friends are graduating…
And I want to tell all my friends how much I love them and am going to miss them,
but that means acknowledging that they’re leaving.
And I have this strange feeling under my skin that everything is going to be different and the same all at once
and it’s scary and exciting and slightly overwhelming…well, maybe more than slightly.
Welp. Here’s to summer.
